Liverpool announced on Wednesday that Paul Glatzel had signed his first professional contract with the English giants.

Glatzel has been with Liverpool since the age of eight, progressing through the various youth teams to the Under-23s.

The 18-year-old was born in Liverpool, but has German parents and has represented both England and Germany at youth level.

With 23 goals to his name this season, it would be fair to say that there is a bit of excitement surrounding the teenager.

And therefore it was not a surprise when the Liverpool fans went a bit potty when it was announced that he had signed his first professional contract on Wednesday.

Glatzel will now be hoping to continue his impressive scoring form for the Under-18s and Under-23s in the coming months with the view to eventually progressing into Jurgen Klopp’s senior side.
